Carma Financial Services Corporation’s (CARMA) Privacy Policy has been developed as an extension of our commitment to provide quality reporting products and services. All products and services are delivered with the highest level of integrity when dealing with our customer’s information and all other information gathered for the purposes of building verifiable, factual, and objective business and credit reports.
This policy covers how we collect, store and use information and is regularly reviewed for compliance to current legislation.
As of January 1, 2001, individuals are protected by the
federal Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act which sets
out ground rules for how private sector organizations collect, use or disclose
personal information in the course of commercial activities. Effective
“Personal Information” does not include job title, telephone number, email address, address or anything that might appear on a business card or that can be found publicly available.
CARMA’s credit reporting divisions, Lumbermen’s and Mercantile Credit Bureaus are licensed under the Ministry of Consumer and Business Services, Consumer Reporting Act. Both Lumbermen’s and Mercantile place great importance on safeguarding personal information and compliance with the collection, assimilation, and distribution of all personal information.
