Credit Assessment Program (CAP) In today’s often volatile business climate, making well informed credit decisions is crucial to the growth and profitability of your business. A single credit report or financial statement can only provide a glimpse into a customer’s complete credit profile and the need to perform due diligence on high value accounts (generally over $50,000) can put a strain on resources, impede productivity and keep revenue off the books. The Credit Assessment Program (CAP) is a highly customized, comprehensive and investigative program specifically designed to monitor customers with whom you have medium to high risk and/or financial exposure. Available exclusively online, subscribers have access to multiple sources of credit and financial data for their entire receivables portfolio. Updated as required, CAP allows you to make decisions that will maximize revenue on low risk accounts and limit further exposure on high risk accounts. The Credit Assessment Program provides:
Account Monitoring Members submitting their aged trial balance can subscribe to the Account Monitoring Program. This cost effective and proactive program will provide you with a fully automated tool to protect your assets and mitigate risk. Using our online reporting system, members can identify specific customers to monitor from their list of outstanding receivables. Should we receive any updates to the banking information, legal name, trade references, payment habits or items of record for any of these customers, you will be notified. Notification frequency can be set “as it happens” or at predetermined intervals (weekly, monthly, etc.). You can add or remove customers from your list as often as necessary depending on the status of their account. Principal Reports The personal credit worthiness of a business owner will enable a credit professional to make more informed credit decisions on small businesses. Order a Principal Report every time you review credit on a sole proprietorship or partnership. The Principal Report provides a current and historical credit record on the payment habits and indebtedness of an individual. The report contains bankruptcy details, public record filings (suits, judgments) and a score to denote the timeliness of the payment pattern.* *A signed credit application authorizing the creditor to obtain credit information is required when ordering this report. Insolvency Searches We can verify whether a business or business owner has ever been insolvent. PPSA Registration The Personal Property Security Act (PPSA) is a procedure for creditors to register their specific interest in the personal property of a debtor and to secure payment of the debt and to establish a priority position in the collateral, thereby providing notice to others who may give an existing or future interest in the goods in question. If you would like more information on how Mercantile Credit Bureau can help you secure your interests, please contact us here PPSA Searches A PPSA search will identify secured creditors as additional trade reference sources.
